Exterior of a church in Paros, where like on many of the islands of Greece, the colors of blue and white predominate. The colors have both symbolic and practical uses - blue reflects the sky and the water of the Aegean Sea and was also the least expensive color paint to produce. White represents purity and also helps cool the stone houses being beaten my the constant sun.
